First shoot in the new studio.
After a few weeks of moving and setting up the new studio it was time for a test run.
My model for the day was Georgie - http://www.modelmayhem.com/1250149 who was gracious enough to agree to be my guinea pig for the afternoon and let me try out a few different lighting techniques.
First set up was on a grey background using a fairly simple two light setup - one left of camera with a small grid reflector attached and another just right of camera with a beauty dish.

We then went to a white background and this time I used two Bowens Quad X heads with strip soft boxes attached, on either side, pointed back at the white background paper at 45 degrees to give an even illumination. A Nikon SB900 was also added behind Georgie and pointing back towards the camera to give a bit of flare and glow on the left side of her head. The only illumination coming from the front was from a bank of reflectors on either side of my shooting position with only a small gap left for me to stick the lens through.

For the last shot, I kept the two Bowens Quad X heads with strip boxes pointing at the white background but this time took away the reflector bank and put black absorbers either side of her, creating a channel to shoot down. I also added another Bowens head with the beauty dish attached next to my shooting position to light her face and torso but leave her legs to go fairly dark.
