Cameron is a Master Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and over the last decade has been successful in numerous photographic awards and competitions and has also been a guest speaker for a number of amateur and professional organisations.
His fine art practice utilises both traditional and contemporary photographic process, stemming from his love of 4x5" black and white photography and his concurrent desire to embrace digital technology. Cameron progressively deals with both the human form and landscape genres and often combines the two in both natural and manmade environments.
Inspiration
Many people knew my father as the firm but fair police officer that he was during the majority of his life. Of course I knew this side of him as well but I also knew a much softer side, a side which was nurtured by his love of photography and the natural world around us.
It was through his influence that from an early age, I also developed a fascination for the natural world and later, in my teenage years, my passion for photography also grew. Without my father's encouragement and guidance, I know I wouldn't be the accomplished photographer that I am today.
I wish to share with you just some of the many wonderful images that dad captured during the 30 odd years of his involvement in photography. Many of these images have won awards through his participation in various camera clubs but there are also images that are being seen by the public for the very first time.
It is my hope that through viewing these images you will gain an appreciation of the artistic and gentle side of Don Attree, a side his family knew well. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and he is dearly missed.
